It was a beautiful September day. I was a little past three miles up the canyon, and just over 9000 feet elevation. The trail emerged from the woods into an alpine meadow. I set off exploring the perimeter of the meadow and found this impressive fir tree ascending heavenward. I spent several minutes searching for the right camera position to record the majesty of the scene.
